Racial Diversity - Part 2

Not knowing where to start, I started with what I know: I have a friend who runs a summer camp in an African-American neighborhood. He hires a bunch of counselors each summer and I had met one of them. I called him up and we met just to get to know each other.

We talked about how school is going (he’s a college student), girlfriends, roommates, sports, anything. Eventually, he told me about this one test he needed to pass to become a teacher, and I suddenly had a place where I thought I could contribute: I am a teacher and a teacher training (for people who want to teach English as a second language), so maybe I could help him study for the test.
