Racial Diversity - Part 1

Okay. This can be a hard topic to talk about, so let me start with something from my journal…

Last week in Colorado (at a racial diversity conference) God clearly called me to something new. I had been reading parts of Isaiah and 58:6-12 had been standing out to me. One morning a friend prayed, asking why God was holding back from giving us a breakthrough. It struck me that maybe it was us, maybe God was waiting for us to move. This section of Isaiah is what stands out to me as our part: “if you get rid of unfair practices, quit blaming victims, quit gossiping about other people’s sins, if you are generous with the hungry and start giving yourselves to the down-and-out…” THEN “your lives will begin to glow…be bathed in sunlight”!

I feel called to, compelled to act on this. It is not a matter of us needing to become diverse, but it is an issue of the gospel and an outgrowth of seeking first his kingdom…. God, I want to do this! Please help me know how!
